Homophones in legal drafts

A clerk or counterparty reads the word on the page, not the word you meant. There vs their, its vs it is, affect vs effect change the fact. The processor does not silently swap these. It flags them so you choose.

Pairs the processor watches

• THEIR / THERE / THEY'RE — possessive vs place vs THEY ARE. THERE IS / THERE ARE is a common flag.
• ITS / IT'S — possessive ITS (no apostrophe) vs IT IS. QPSG prefers the full verb.
• AFFECT / EFFECT — affect as the verb (influence); effect as the result.
• PRINCIPAL / PRINCIPLE — main party or sum vs the rule.
• WAIVE / WAVE — give up a right vs a motion.
• ENSURE / INSURE — make certain vs coverage.
• CITE / SITE / SIGHT, CAPITAL / CAPITOL, WHETHER / WEATHER — same review class.

What the processor flags

• THERE IS / THERE ARE — place-word before a verb; name the fact instead of an empty “there.”
• IT'S / THEY'RE — contractions. Expand to IT IS / THEY ARE, or replace with the named party.
• AFFECT vs EFFECT — hint text on the word: verb vs result.
• HOMOPHONES filter — after ANALYZE, click HOMOPHONES to hide everything except this class.

Double-click a flagged word for the hint. Homophones are review, not auto-replace. Accept-all does not pick THEIR vs THERE for you.

How to run it
